Exciting Keynote Speaker Announcement: Professor Roger Barker

We are thrilled to announce that Professor Roger Barker, a leading figure in the field of neuroscience, will be delivering a keynote address at next year’s Parkinson’s Australia National Conference!

Professor Barker is the Professor of Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge and a Consultant Neurologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital1. With an illustrious career dedicated to understanding and treating neurodegenerative disorders, he brings a wealth of knowledge and groundbreaking research to our event.

As the head of the regional NHS Huntington’s Disease (HD) and Parkinson’s Disease (PD) clinics, Professor Barker’s work is at the forefront of clinical practice and research. His investigations into the heterogeneity of these disorders have paved the way for innovative experimental therapeutics, including cell and gene therapies and drug repurposing1.

In addition to his clinical roles, Professor Barker is the lead academic scientist at the ARUK-funded Drug Discovery Institute in Cambridge and the John Van Geest Centre for Brain Repair1. His contributions to the field are further highlighted by his position as Co-editor in Chief of the Journal of Neurology1.
