A world-first information portal and resource hub supporting people with young onset Parkinson’s

The Young Onset Parkinson’s Exchange (YOPX) app and website supports people with young onset Parkinson’s. Developed as a living lab model, the experiences, ideas, knowledge and daily needs of people with young onset Parkinson’s have underpinned all app and website content.

More than 250 individual stories and experiences shape YOPX tools and resources. The app also provides a fast track for people with young onset Parkinson’s to collect and collate information relevant to assist with their NDIS applications and reviews.

YOPX & NDIS

Anyone diagnosed with young onset Parkinson’s or Parkinson’s under the age of 65 can apply for support under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) if they meet the eligibility requirements. NDIS can help to provide funding for capacity building, capital and core support to help with increased costs from Parkinson’s in daily life.

The NDIS also helps people with disability get early intervention support. Remember, every NDIS plan varies according to the individual but will be based on your own goals, priorities and needs.
